EXCURSIONS:

o HISTORICAL - There are Over 350 heritage sites have been identified within the district which is dotted with remnants of forts, mission stations, places of historical significance and burial sites of Xhosa kings and struggle heroes.

o RECREATIONAL

§ The Big Pineapple – View the largest pineapple in the world located in Bathurst

§ The Fish River Lighthouse – Make a reservation with the lighthouse keeper and take a tour around the lighthouse which is one of 23 in the country. Built in 1898 the vertical black and white striped tower is situated 76 metres above sea level. The light flashes once every 10 seconds and has a range of 32 nautical miles.

§ The Pig & Whistle – The Inn was built in 1825 in Bathurst.
